MY SUMMER WILL COME
It’s been a while Since I smiled On this windy road Endless winter, harsh snow Braving the storms Tired and alone. Hello, a stranger with a warm bowl On this endless, windy road. Your heart as cold As the ice on road. Shivering, trenches deep in snow I make, Nay a friend, nary a home in sight, To rest my eyes awhile. O how long has it been Since I have been home, Mother’s food, father’s hug Or shared in my kin’s joke. I walk the roads alone, For burdens are heavy, I climb the mountains big, So the path behind is easy. It’s dark and cold here, promise me but the sun, Not far, my summer will come.
